Detailed below are a selection of Frequently Asked Questions for all our heavy duty marquees - the original range. Please further see FAQ information for all our commercial pop up gazebos / easy up gazebos and also some general FAQ's. Please review these questions to assist you with your enquiry.

Marquees, Gazebos and Party Tents
Are Crocodile Trading Marquees and Gazebos waterproof?
Crocodile Trading marquees and gazebos are manufactured to an extremely high standard and all stitching is seam sealed where possible, this gives the material a greater water resistance. It is very rare that these marquees and gazebos leak, however, if a drip does occur then using a seam sealant on the area will usually remedy this. Condensation can often be mistaken for a leaking canopy, fortunately this cannot be avoided. Condensation can be caused by changes in temperature when left up overnight or for a long period of time and can be reduced by airing out the structure regularly.
Similarly, whilst offering extreme weather resistance, there is a point at which in a persistent torrential downpour light droplets of water may gather on seamed areas (as with any outdoor structure).
Can a marquee withstand adverse weather?
As with all semi-permanent structures, there is a point at which they will succumb to adverse weather conditions if left up unsupervised or for a prolonged period of time. Our products have been wind tested in a semi-sheltered area in wind speeds of approx 30mph using tie down kits & weighted feet. We do not advise leaving your marquee up overnight as you have no control over weather conditions. We cannot be held responsible for the effects of adverse weather.
Can a pop-up gazebo withstand adverse weather?
As with all semi-permanent structures, there is a point at which they will succumb to adverse weather conditions. Our products have been wind tested in a semi-sheltered area in wind speeds of approx 30mph using tie down kits, weighted feet and ground bars. We do not advise leaving your marquee up overnight as you have no control over the weather as it can be so unpredictable and also your not there to monitor the structure. Crocodile Trading advises that every extra care and precaution is taken to ensure the marquee is stable. The alternative approach is to NOT use your marquee during adverse conditions as Crocodile Trading cannot be held responsible for the effects of mother nature! Can I make my marquee larger or smaller?
Yes. To increase size you would need to purchase additional poles, joints, roof and windows. To make smaller you would only need the correct sized roof and remove poles, joints and windows not required.
Can one person assemble a marquee or gazebo?
We recommend that at least 2 people should work together to assemble or disassemble a marquee or pop-up gazebo.
Can two or more structures be attached together?
Yes, it is possible to attach these together to create one whole structure by using our Gutter Kits found in our Marquee / Gazebo Tent Accessories page.
Can you print my company logo and telephone number on my marquee / gazebo?
Yes, we can print your logo / text / brand on your instant shelter or gazebo canopy and side panels ensuring you make the maximum impact at your show or event. Artwork can be printed directly onto the polyester using vinyl heat transfer. It is not possible to print on our marquees.
Do you manufacture one off bespoke marquees?
No, all our items are "off the shelf" and sold as standard sizes.
How long does it take to assemble a marquee?
Time frames can vary and will depend on the familiarity of the marquee. Approximations are given in each marquee listing.
How long does it take to assemble the a gazebo?
Our range of pop-up gazebos have been designed to be assembled in just a few minutes. The gazebo canopy can remain permanently attached to the frame which can save time when you come to assemble or disassemble.
I have ripped my gazebo / marquee canopy when disassembling the structure, am I covered under manufacturing guarantee for a replacement?
Unfortunately not, please take care in making sure you disassemble your marquee or pop-up gazebo safely and do not use extreme force, make sure all poles, screws are detached; improper erection / dismantling is not covered under your manufactures guarantee.
Can I obtain a copy of the assembly instructions?

My marquee / popup gazebo is leaking water in?
The water you are seeing is caused by the ever-changing climate in Britain. It is impossible for water to leak in your marquee or pop-up gazebo, however water will appear inside and in some cases saturate, this is condensation - when hot air meets cold and this can be extreme in some cases especially on soft ground as moisture is also drawn from the ground.
Crocodile Trading can confirm that your structure is not leaking and the only way you can help this situation would be installing a dehumidifier or leaving the doors open providing adequate ventilation so the structure can acclimatize. Any easy-up gazebo or party marquee that is being hit from all angles by adverse weather conditions, which is totally enclosed will generate condensation this is the laws of physics. The problem is also renowned in caravans, as dehumidifies are fitted to absorb the moisture, as when they are left for long periods of time on the return visit they are dripping inside with water (condensation).
My marquee canopy doesn't fit?
Ensure that the poles are pushed firmly all the way into the joints. Make sure the threaded screws are finger tight, these are to ensure the poles stay in place while the canopy is being fitted. Please note that if purchasing a replacement canopy for an existing structure NOT originally purchased from us, then this may not fit. We cannot accept returns if this is the case.

What accessories do I need for my Marquee, Gazebo or Party-Tent?
Each product is supplied with all the required guy ropes and ground pegs. It is recommended for certain usage applications to purchase further securing measures these will be detailed in the description. Other accessories are also available to compliment your purchase, please view our accessories page for further information
What do you mean by the term Multi-Span?
Multi-Span means you can add extra 2m bays to make your marquee larger. For example, if you already have a structure measuring at 3m x 8m you can purchase an additional add on bay, additional joints and fixings and a 3m x 10m canopy to give you a 3m x 10m marquee.
What is a Gazebo?
Generally a "pop-up" product that can be assembled in minutes. Gazebos or instant shelters can be used as market stalls, trade stands, exhibition events, motorsport events, commercial use along with a 101 other uses.
What is a Marquee?
A Marquee is a heavy-duty commercial structure with the ability to hold any main outdoor event.
What is P.E. Covering?
P.E. stands for "Polyethylene"...this is a “Plastic to the Touch” waterproof covering. It is used on many of our Marquees. It is 100% waterproof (though there may be slight water ingress on seams).
What is Polyester?
This is a cotton-based fabric, soft to the touch, and generally used for a more aesthetically pleasing appeal. The fabric is generally used with a various mix of coatings to offer different results…
P.U. Coating. Has an invisible water resistant coating water resistant, but also U.V. resistant.
P.V.C Coating. A Shiny coating offering Water and U.V. resistance, but also more resistant to aging.
Why should I buy a Marquee rather than rent a Marquee?
Frequently purchasing a Marquee rather than hiring a Marquee can be a far more cost effective option, compared to the cost of hiring due to labour and transport costs. it is usually possible to buy a similar product outright.
General FAQ’s
Can I insure my product against theft or damage through the elements?
We recommend that you contact your own insurance company to check for cover under your household or business policy.
Are the prices inclusive of VAT?
Yes! All products listed on the Crocodile Trading website are inclusive of VAT.
Can I visit and view the products?
Unfortunately we do not have the facility to show fully assembled products. We do however supply a full range of images of each of our products to give a true impression of there capabilities.
Can you repair a damaged product?
Damaged products can be repaired if the damage is to the poles or connectors. If the material had been damaged it is recommended to use a local tent repair company.
Cleaning Advice?
It is recommended to use only warm water and a soft cotton cloth to clean all of our products. We do not recommend the use of detergents.
Do you charge for shipping?
FREE Shipping is applied throughout our website for UK Mainland only (exceptions apply). For other areas such as Scottish Highlands & Islands, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland - please contact us directly for a postage quote.
Do you stock spares?
Generally we hold spares of all of our products. Unfortunately we cannot supply parts for products which have not been purchased from us.
How do I get further information about a product?
We have tried to make our descriptions as comprehensive as possible, however if you feel the product description does not answer your enquiry please Contact us and we will be happy to assist further
How do I track my delivery?
When a purchase is marked as dispatched you will be given a tracking number and courier web address to track your parcel.
How long does shipping take?
Delivery is approx 1-2 working days.
Is there a discount if I order in bulk?
This will be considered upon serious enquiries only.
What is the difference between material weights?
Each fabric / cover material has a range of weights, for example: 120g, 140g or 180g PE, also 140g, 160g, 180g, 240g Polyester and above. This is a specific measurement of the material weight per sq. metre. The heavier the material weight the thicker and denser the material. This rule applies to all Marquee, Gazebos and Party Tent coverings.
What is the difference between our product and others on the market?
We offer a comprehensive range of products, each with an individual usage in mind. Time has been spent testing and developing our range to meet the high expectations we have. As our products are designed to our own specification, we understand exactly the suitability of each and can advise from an informed position.
What payment methods do you accept?
Crocodile Trading accepts all major credit and debit cards (excluding American Express). We also accept BACS payment (Bank transfer directly to our Bank Account) and PayPal.
