Are Crocodile Trading Marquees and Gazebos waterproof?

Crocodile Trading marquees and gazebos are manufactured to an extremely high standard and all stitching is seam sealed where possible, this gives the material a greater water resistance. It is very rare that these marquees and gazebos leak, however, if a drip does occur then using a seam sealant on the area will usually remedy this. Condensation can often be mistaken for a leaking canopy, fortunately this cannot be avoided. Condensation can be caused by changes in temperature when left up overnight or for a long period of time, condensation may be reduced by airing out the structure on a regular basis. The gathering of condensation around the seams can give the wrong impression that the canopy is leaking.
Similarly, whilst offering extreme weather resistance, there is a point at which in a persistent terrential downpour light droplets of water may gather on seamed areas (as with any outdoor structure).

Can I make my marquee larger?

Yes. Crocodile Trading marquees have the new beneficial Multi-Span feature which means you can buy add on bays, fixings and a canopy to make your structure larger.

Can one person assemble a marquee or gazebo?
|
Crocodile Trading recommends that at least 2 people should work together to assemble a marquee or pop-up gazebo for health and safety reasons. The larger the structure the more people you should invite to help. The same goes for the dismantling of any Crocodile Trading structure.

Can two or more structures be attached together?

Can you print my company logo and telephone number on my marquee / gazebo?
|
Marquees and gazebos make excellent marketing arenas. We can print your logo, telephone number, graphics and images on your canopy and side panels ensuring you make the maximum impact at your show or event. Gazebos can have artwork printed directly onto the polyester however, marquees differ due to the type of material and can only house printing on vinyl stickers which are then to be applied to the Polyethylene / PVC. Do you manufacture one off bespoke marquees?
|
At the moment no. However, we feel that with our extensive range across 3m, 4m, 5m and 6m spans (that with the use of a gutter kit) a combination of marquee sizes can be put together to create one large structure. Do you sell blank panels for your marquees?
|
Yes! Due to our modular format of marquees, each panel comes in a 2m section and are available from our Marquees and Accessories section. They can add extra privacy within your marquee. Currently, we only have PE (Polyethylene) blank panels available - PVC will be coming soon.

How long does it take to assemble a marquee?
|
|
The time it takes to assemble a marquee can vary mainly due to how familiar you are with assembling such structures. Larger marquees will take longer to assemble as there are more components to piece together. Smaller structures less so. It also depends on the amount of people involved; obviously the more times you erect your party marquee the more quicker and efficient you will become. The list below shows the approximate times it would take to assemble a Crocodile Trading marquee. How long does it take to assemble the Evoshade and Evomax range of gazebos?
|
The Crocodile Trading range of pop-up gazebos have been designed to be assembled in just a few minutes. The frame is fully assembled and made of box section aluminium for a light but robust finish. The gazebo canopy can remain permanently attached to the frame which can save time when you come to erect or pack away your Evoshade or Evomax easy up gazebo. To visit the full range click here.

I have ripped my gazebo / marquee canopy when disassembling the structure, am I covered under manufacturing guarantee for a replacement?

Unfortunately not, please take care in making sure you disassemble your marquee or pop-up gazebo safely and do not use extreme force, make sure all poles, screws are detached, improper erection, dismantling is not covered under your manufactures guarantee. However we do have a repair service to assist in this unlikely event.

My marquee / popup gazebo is leaking water in?
|
The water you are seeing is caused by the ever-changing climate in Britain. It is impossible for water to leak in your marquee or pop-up gazebo, however water will appear inside and in some cases saturate, this is condensation - when hot air meets cold and this can be extreme in some cases especially on soft ground as moisture is also drawn from the ground.
Crocodile Trading can confirm that your structure is not leaking and the only way you can help this situation would be installing a dehumidifier or leaving the doors open providing adequate ventilation so the structure can acclimatize. Any easy-up gazebo or party marquee that is being hit from all angles by adverse weather conditions, which is totally enclosed will generate condensation this is the laws of physics. The problem is also renowned in caravans, as dehumidifies are fitted to absorb the moisture, as when they are left for long periods of time on the return visit they are dripping inside with water (condensation).
Crocodile Trading regularly attends outdoor shows and set up these structures all the time and as the climate changes (even more so through the night) water can be dripping from the ceiling the next morning, its simply mother nature.

My marquee canopy doesn't fit
|
An easy mistake has been made, make sure that the poles are pushed firmly all the way into the joints (do not line up any holes in the poles and joints) as the holes are part of the manufacturing and powder coating process. Make sure the wing nuts are finger tight, these are to ensure the poles stay in place while the canopy is being fitted, once the canopy is fitted the wing nuts have done there job as the canopy will hold the framework together. The canopy should be placed over the framework and a few bungee cords applied to the end only; stretch the canopy over the poles at the far end, and add bungee cords here as well. Once you have applied bungee cords at both ends then you can lift the frame to add the leg poles. When the leg poles are in place add the side panels, these share the same bungee as the canopy. Following this advise that canopy will now fit perfectly

What are ground bars?
|
Ground bars run along the base of marque structure to give added stability during adverse weather conditions.They can be used on soft or hard standing areas. The ground bars link each leg together creating a structural base frame around the perimeter of the marquee. The bottom of each wall panel can be attached using bungee straps to prevent bellowing. Ground bars can aid a structure by keeping it more level and stable. Individual ground bars can be removed to provide an exit or entry points. Only certain marquees come with ground bars so be sure to contact us to confirm which structures have them.

What do you mean by the term Multi-Span?
|
Multi-Span means you can add extra 2m bays to make your marquee larger. For example, if you already have a structure measuring at 3m x 8m you can purchase an additional add on bay, additional joints and fixings and a 3m x 10m canopy to give you a 3m x 10m marquee. The same can be said for making a 3m x 12m structure but with a 3m x 12m canopy, and additional 2 add on bays and the relevant joints and fixings. Other canopies are available for making your marquee smaller - 3m x 2m, 3m x 4m, 3m x 6m and this Multi-Span method is available throughout our 4m, 5m and 6m marquee range!

What is a Gazebo?
|
A smaller generally domestic casual usage product, barbecues, garden sitting, general light outdoors personal usage, with or without sides.

What is a Marquee?
|
A Marquee is a heavy-duty domestic or commercial structure ranging from, we would say, as little as 6 metres upwards. Has the ability to hold any main outdoor event.

What is a Party Tent?
|
A structure as by definition to facilitate a party, domestic / light commercial usage, includes sides.
|
|
What is P.E. Covering?
|
This is a “Plastic to the Touch” waterproof covering. It is used on many of our Marquees and in lesser densities on some of our Party Tent range. It is 100% waterproof (though there may be slight water ingress on seams).

What is Polyester?
|
This is a cotton-based fabric, soft to the touch, and generally used for a more aesthetically pleasing appeal.
The fabric is generally used with a various mix of coatings to offer different results…
P.A. Coating. An invisible water resistant coating. Water resistance by definition means, will withstand and repel water in most conditions. However in severe, persistent or adverse conditions some water will penetrate.
P.U. Coating. Has an invisible water resistant coating water resistant as with P.A., but also U.V. resistant.
P.V.C Coating. A Shiny coating offering Water and U.V. resistance, but also more resistant to aging (though both P.A. and P.U. are reasonably tough coatings)

What is the difference between Commercial and Domestic Grade?
|
Each product specified and manufactured for Crocodile Trading fall in to one of two categories.
Commercial Grade products are heavy duty, generally have steel connectors, heavier grade steel, larger diameter, heavier weighted material and are designed for heavy domestic and standard commercial, multi season use.
The Domestic Grade products are designed for domestic and light commercial usage and generally material weights are lighter.

Frequently purchasing a Marquee rather than hiring a Marquee can be a far more cost effective option, compared to the cost of hiring it is usually possible to buy a similar product outright. Can I insure my product against theft or damage through the elements?

We recommend that you contact your own insurance company to check for cover under your household or business policy.

Are the prices inclusive of VAT?
|
Yes! All products listed on the Crocodile Trading website are inclusive of VAT. VAT will be removed for products being delivered outside of the EU (European Union).

Can a product be configured to multiple sizes?
|
Each of our products is designed for a specific size configuration; it is not possible to configure a structure to more than one size.

Can I visit and view the products?
|
Unfortunately we do not have the facility to show fully erected products. We do however supply a full range of images of each of our products to give a true impression of there capabilities.

Can you repair a damaged product?
|
Damaged products can be repaired if the damage is to the poles or connectors. If the material had been damaged it is recommended to use a local tent repair company.
|

Cleaning Advice?
|
It is recommended to use only warm water and a soft cotton cloth to clean all of our products. We do not recommend the use of detergents.

Do you charge for shipping?
|
Shipping is free to a UK mainland address (this excludes: Highlands and Islands of Scotland; AB, HS, IV, KA, KW, PA, PH, ZE, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Channel Islands etc) rates for these areas are shown at the checkout stage when you; A) Select your location and; B) Confirm your postal code. Please note that there is a warehouse packing and handling fee of £7.99 applied once no matter how many items you order!

Of course! However, we will only deal with serious enquiries. For example, if you enquire about purchasing 10 units then we will give you a price for 10 units but, we cannot sell you "one-off" units at that price!! The discounted price is for only the amount in the enquiry.

What is the difference between material weights?
|
Each fabric / cover material has a range of weights, for example: 120g, 140g or 180g PE, also 140g, 160g, 180g, 240g Polyester and above. This is a specific measurement of the material weight per sq. metre. The heavier the material weight the thicker and denser the material. This rule applies to all Marquee, Gazebos and Party Tent coverings.
